an outstanding member of the Roberts Vaux Middle School Chess Team, The Mighty Bishops! Demetrius
was recently featured in a "Local Angle" article in the Sunday, Philadelphia Inquirer
Magazine (February 22, '98). "Demetrius is one of the best players in the city and one of the highest rated
middle schoolers in the country. At last year's scholastic national championships in Knoxville, he pulled off what
is believed to be the biggest upset in tournament history when he defeated a player ranked 1,000 points higher."
